The Rest of Easter

So! Where were we..?
I sort of just dropped blogging all of a sudden. In the middle of my Easter celebrations. Whoops.
The rest of our Easter week went really well. Minus one day, I think it was Saturday that we didn't do anything. Friday night we just read out of our Easter book from the Last Supper to the burial of the Savior.
Here are the other two things I am just now getting to posting.

 Jesus Fed the 5,000
One of my favorite stories...(I don't know why exactly... it's just great to me).
Homemade white bread and fish!

Stealing bits of bread

 Sunday Morning Resurrection Rolls-Yum!

It was a really good week- reflecting on the life of Christ. Like I said in a previous post, this was good for me. I am still often thinking about what I learned during our Easter week. I'm glad we did this. I'm especially glad that I have a husband who is so helpful when it comes to these things. He knows so much about the Gospel and was able to explain a lot that I wondered about or wasn't as knowledgable about. He also was very helpful and on board with all of these little activities. He's the greatest.

Easter Sunday
Last year I was totally on top of the Easter dress thing. This year....Day before Easter I was like, "Ooh, this one is $5! Done. Get it. Let's go!" But she looked adorable to me just like she did last year.
Ooh I love this girl!
She turned 18 months on the 14th and her first day of nursery was Easter sunday. She went in, sat down at a table and didn't look back. :( Ookayy. See ya later....
What a fun girl.

She is hating pictures lately...

And then we had a little egg hunt at the Hansen's after family dinner.

It was a really good day. A really good week!

Day Two

DAY TWO

We talked about when Jesus blessed the children and how Jesus loves them.

Activity: Glow in the dark egg hunt with puzzle pieces inside.

Two ideas I stole from pinterest and combined them. 6 eggs & 1 small puzzle.

The puzzle idea was a little mature for Aleah, it will be a lot more fun when she is older....but oh well! This whole week is a little bit over the top for her. It has still been a good experience though.
If anything it has brought ME to reflect on the reason for the season.

Day One

Day One of our Easter celebrations...
"Why we celebrate Easter"

This morning I watched
and loved it.

Before we started our activity I played that video (mostly though, just for Cade to see it).
Our activity tonight was just simply dying Easter eggs. There wasn't much more to it.

But before Aleah went to bed we read one page from
 "Why we celebrate Easter".

Simple. Simple.
It was fun, and besides a few chips from a couple of dropped eggs, it went really smooth!

If you haven't watched the video that I linked above, "Because of Him", take three minutes and do so! I felt a strong spirit of peace and hope when I watched it.

Complete!

A little bit of the process:

 We did it!
Our little project furniture piece is COMPLETE! Or at least for now. For this decade. Because, oh man, oh man, are we crap DIY-ers or what! Just kidding. ...Kind of.

We had fun with this. But I am glad it's done. We worked on this little by little very slowly in our shed. Most nights it was after we had just laid Aleah down to go to bed.
We learned a few things in this process. One of those things being--DIY painting tutorials found on blogs through pinterest can be a little bit of trouble if this is all foreign to you. So, If you come across a cool fix up piece and are a total newbie to this kind of thing- ask a Lowe's expert for help (or someone who really knows their stuff and is willing to help you) instead of pinterest. We were helped by a nice girl at Lowes when we were buying paint and I'm glad she gave us her advice before we got ourselves in a mess.

This piece has its flaws. Just don't look too close. Its here to stay for a while though.
Even though it's not perfect, I still am pretty proud of it and excited about it. I think it looks very nice in our living room. :)
Now, what goes inside and on top?

It all started with a $10 Goodwill find.
The funny thing is that we hadn't gone thrifting together at Goodwill before then, and we haven't gone since then.

P.S. I apologize for terrible quality photos. Camera #2 still MIA.

Bliss

I have too many thoughts running through my head lately. I can't put into words exactly what I have been thinking and feeling. Tonight this quote came to mind. It has always been special to me. Right now it is once again perfect. I wanted to do something kind of fun with it. I found a picture of mine that I liked and I added the quote to it.

Here are a few other blissful moments or things that I love....
